The Creation Process
How a KRIEGO! artefact comes to life

Resource Gathering
As a collage artist, I am a collector by nature, constantly searching for fragments of images, color, and text.
My Matrix style focuses on square cutouts, while KRIEGO! boards rely on image strips, all sourced from a broad archive of magazines.
This slow process unfolds in a meditative flow, where intuitive choices gradually form the final work.

Interpretation
After the composition is set, the elements are brought onto the foundation in a slow, tactile process, more like painting than assembling. Fragments are pressed into the surface, torn away, layered again, leaving behind cracks, gaps, and trapped air as traces of movement and decision. Through this continual covering, erasing, and rebuilding, the work finds its final mood and voice.

Foundation Building
Inspired by Anton Bruckner, I build my own foundations instead of using prefabricated frames or canvases.
Each object is autonomous, designed with interfaces that allow works to connect through magnetism.
Functionality outweighs precision, and through layered materials, the foundation becomes the most physical and technical stage of the process.

Maturation
Many things in life require time to mature after their creation, allowing character and quality to emerge. The making of my work does not end with its completion; fascination is followed by distance, doubt, and familiarity. Only through this period of separation does it become clear whether a piece is coherent enough to join the family of KRIEGO! artifacts.

Composition
Once the foundation is finished, composition becomes an open search.
Freed from their original context, elements are intuitively combined until a singular whole appears.
I begin with a single element and connect it to others, working freely and without categorization, searching for the next piece of the puzzle.
